This procedure is a minimally invasive treatment for larger varicose veins, particularly the main “trunk” veins that supply smaller surface veins. Under ultrasound guidance, a fine laser fibre is inserted into the affected vein. Laser energy is then delivered directly into the vein wall, heating and damaging it in a controlled way.
This process causes the vein to shrink, collapse, and eventually close completely. Once sealed, the body naturally absorbs the vein over time, and blood is redirected through healthy veins.
